01:18 - Yoshinobu, Ominesan and the insanity..

We decided to hike up this mountain with Yoshinobu our native guide. He was a gentle soul of very few words, like, "stop, we take picture now." or answering every direct question with maybe. He was perfect. I shared a bath with him at the summit-we are now brothers of the bath.

It was me, Paul, Paul#2, Rhetto and Yoshinobu (who limitless supply of snacks kept me alive this trip). Ominesan is a holy mountain; here is a sign on the way up. Apparently this is the way it is and the way it always will be. I have heard stories of women dressing as men so they could climb to the top, but I know I didn't see any while we were going up.

Rhett showing off all the sensitivity training he got while with the monks on the mountain.
a good shot of me and the boys at the top of the hill. There was a place where you could pay about 10$ and an old man would hang you off the cliff with a rope until you confessed your love of the buddha. Sounds like it was worth it to me.
In defiance of women. Only on a mountain top can a man do this :)

Did I just crap my pants again? (this was typical of Rhett this whole trip. Note to self never walk closer than 10 steps behind Rhetto).
Some easy stairs at the start of the trail.
Some more easy stairs at the top of the trail.
Some NOT-so-easy stairs in the middle of the trail.
