It's Saturday night...
Yesterday I made a bit of a party at my house. I am grateful that all the good folks came over to enjoy dinner and drinking. At first I was a bit nervous about it, but once the power issues got worked out (the grills kept blowing the fusses in the house, good to know for the future) it went pretty smooth. I ate my fill and I hope that everyone else did too. Before I knew it it was nearly 0200 and people decided the party was over and went home. I was tired as hell and between the vino and the time I passed out in short order after I tidied up a bit. Clean up was a snap the next morning despite feeling like people were dancing on my head. I had a ton of leftovers and I tried to make one last pie out of all the batter I had left + the bacon, mochi (it's like dough) and cheese. It turned out pretty good but it was a bit too much-- about 12'' x 2'' thick :D
In unrelated news I wasn't thinking yesterday was April 1st and I should have done something horrible to people at the party. Close as I came was snaping 'candid,' shots some that I posted below. I didn’t get good pictures of everyone, but Enjoy.
Rhett and Yuko, guess the stress
was too much for him to bear.
Belinda, Rhett and Louise using their heat vision to cook the wieners. | John’s last night in | Mark and Vicki-what a bright smile. |
Like the picture before the girl has the pretty smile | the mess | If anyone can suggest a comment please do so in the comments below. I’ll add it if it’s a good one. |
Finally today after I finished cleaning and making use of the last of the batter from the party; a friend stopped by and we headed over to a guy by the name of Hideo
(ひでお-sorry I don't know the kanji for it) and I've met a lot of cool people in my travels but this guy is like Miles Davis, Russel Crow and my little brother rolled into one. He's got a smile like Austin Powers and is semi retired out of the sound engineer's business. His son is one of my students as is his daughter. His house is the dopest thing around. It was built in 6 hrs. on top of a mountain (REALLY-the road is terrifying) out of a the material shipping containers are made of. The really sweet thing is that since it is mobile (you'd never guess but it is) he pays a fraction of the taxes on the property..which of course he owns the whole mountain. This a guy I'm happy to say I met cause he was just righteous cool.
